Studio Line

Cultural Pavilion · 2025

A glass pavilion that almost disappears into the hillside.

Linha Gallery commissioned a small exhibition pavilion for sculpture and works on paper at the edge of a nature reserve. The building had to show the art, frame the landscape and leave as light a footprint as possible.

Challenge

Works on paper need protection from direct sun, while the clients wanted full views of the hills. The site could only be reached by a narrow dirt road, limiting the size of building elements.

Approach

We designed a slender steel frame with glass on three sides and a solid gallery core for light-sensitive work. All parts were sized to arrive on small trucks and be assembled by hand.

Result

The pavilion opened with a show of twelve artists and now hosts four exhibitions a year. Its frame can be dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere if needed.
